It is the year two-thousand-and-twenty-five, and an all-new entry in the Katamari Damacy series – the first in almost eight years – has been announced for release in mere weeks on April 3rd. I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but my friends we are so back.
The news comes via a post on the official Apple Arcade blog because, yes, at launch this one will be exclusive to the service and by extension to Apple devices.
Titled Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, it’s sounding like a pretty familiar experience to anyone who’s has the pleasure of enjoying the series in the past, but with a bit of a Social Media Age twist. See, the King of all Cosmos’ latest escapade is a foray into the world of live streaming, and so your job will be to roll up thousands upon thousands of objects to be turned into stars, all in the name of increasing the King’s follower count. You’ll even be able to see messages from in-game fans as you roll your way around:

I unfortunately adore this franchise enough that I’m considering going and getting an Apple TV or even an iPad tomorrow…
Also on the docket for April on Apple Arcade is a new iteration of Space Invaders InfinityGene, subtitled EVO, the adorable-looking jigsaw/sticker puzzle game puffies., RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic+, The Game of Life 2+ and Sesame Street Mecha Builders+, which is a game I had no idea existed and is totally aimed at children as a STEM learning tool but which I absolutely need to see more of. Did you know that Sesame Street did an animated mecha series back in 2022? I certainly didn’t.
As is the norm, all of these games will be launching into Apple Arcade with zero ads and zero in-app purchases, all included in the AUD $9.99 monthly subscription fee for Apple Arcade — or as part of the AUD $24.95 p/month Apple One subscription which also includes Apple Music, Apple TV, iCloud+ and more.

What do you think of the return of Katamari Damacy coming exclusively to Apple Arcade? Are you like me and enough of a sucker for the Prince that you’ll go out and buy an iPad tomorrow? Let us know in the comments or over on social media!
