Action Platformer Rose And Locket Finds A Publisher In Ninja Kiwi Games

Great news about a promising game

Ninja Kiwi Games has announced that it will publish the action-adventure platforming title, Rose and Locket, developed by Whistling Wizard.

Rose and Locket is a 2D action-adventure title that blends platforming with fast-paced twin-stick gunplay, all wrapped in a stunningly beautiful comic-book aesthetic that jumps off the screen with each frame. We have gone hands-on with Whistling Wizard’s upcoming debut title on various occasions, with our most recent preview covering the now-public demo being our most in-depth. Each time we’ve had the opportunity to get on the sticks with Rose and Locket, we’ve come away wanting more, but video game development is an arduous undertaking, especially for those without a publishing partner.

Excitingly, Rose and Locket is no longer a game searching for a publisher, as Ninja Kiwi Games announced earlier this month that it has signed on to publish the promising title. An Auckland-based development studio, best known for the Bloons mobile game series, Ninja Kiwi has recently branched out into publishing, having signed its first publishing deal with Astronaut Diaries Limited for its game, Denari.

The announcement also reiterates that fellow New Zealand studio Whistling Wizard is targeting a mid-2026 launch for Rose and Locket, which would be great to see. In any case, it’s great to see small teams get the backing they need to get their creative projects out the door and into people’s hands.
