Avowed Has Been Delayed Into 2025 To Give It Some Space From Other Releases

Thoughtful of Xbox to give us a break

Xbox and Obsidian Entertainment have announced that the upcoming RPG Avowed has been delayed and will now release on Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 18, 2025.

Originally set to launch later this year, the open-world RPG has been shifted to early 2025 in order to give it some breathing space. The announcement came in the form of a post to Xbox’s X account, highlighting the big ticket releases coming in 2024 and beyond. “So many games coming! As such, we’re moving Avowed to Feb 18, 2025 to give players’ backlogs some breathing room,” the post reads.

Ands, to be fair, it’s an accurate statement. The image shows Diablo IV: Vessels of Hatred, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Starfield: Shattered Space on the Xbox front, but we’ve also got Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Metaphor: ReFantazio on the horizon as well.

Despite the delay, we’re getting a fresh look at Avowed soon, with the post promising a live stream during Gamecom on August 23.
