Battlefield 6’s Reveal Trailer Is Here And It Heralds The Return Of A Single-Player Campaign

You have to love that Battlefield theme

Battlefield Studios and EA have released the reveal trailer for Battlefield 6, unveiling the first proper look at the upcoming game’s campaign.

After teasing the full reveal earlier this week, the debut trailer for Battlefield 6 dropped during the first hour of the day, giving us our first substantial (and official) look at the next game in the long-running first-person shooter series. The two-minute trailer focuses entirely on the game’s single-player content, beginning with a sombre speech from the president, addressing US citizens following an attack on the country.

The rest of the trailer is absolutely packed with two things that have made Battlefield such a stalwart of the genre: scale and destruction. Helicopters crash into apartments, jets scream through the sky, tanks obliterate entire buildings, and squads of soldiers move through war zones as a unit. It’s also a bad day to be the Brooklyn Bridge, as the structure gets torn apart with missiles, showing that the game’s story will see the fight come to US soil. With whole buildings collapsing and a dam breaking under ballistic stress, the trailer also hints at larger set pieces akin to Battlefield 4‘s Levelution.

Looking at the trailer itself and the accompanying description, we also know a few details about the game’s narrative and the antagonistic force that players will be getting into firefights with. As detailed in a press release, “The trailer offers a first look at Pax Armata, a Private Military Corporation bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict.”

Battlefield 6 will see the return of a single-player campaign for the first time since 2018’s Battlefield V. Many fans lamented the choice made to ship Battlefield 2042 as a multiplayer-only title, so the promise of a return to form is a welcome one.

With that said, Battlefield is a series synonymous with massive online multiplayer matches, so it may seem odd that the trailer didn’t include any proper information on that aspect. Thankfully, there’s not long to wait before we know more, as a multiplayer reveal event will take place on August 1 at 4:30 AM, with a broadcast revealing the game’s features followed by gameplay streams from various creators.
