Blizzard Reveals Diablo II: Resurrected, The Definitive Remastering Of Diablo II

Those dusty 2D sprites are getting a sexy set of 3D-rendered models

As part of BlizzConline today, Blizzard has invited us all to go to hell – revealing Diablo II: Resurrected, a huge remastering of Diablo II and its Lord of Destruction expansion

Diablo II was, and still is a massively popular game – considered by many to be the defining title of the hack n’ slash / isometric loot driven ARPG, so this news tickles me immensely.

Blizzard is also working to avoid alienating the nostalgic players that wish to keep enjoying the more standard/classic Diablo II experience by allowing players to freely switch back-and-forth between the modern graphics and the original experience at any time with the press of a button, seen in a handful of remastered titles over the years.

While Diablo II: Resurrected look incredibly modern, we have been promised that Diablo II’s signature gameplay and systems are completely intact, quirks and all – while also adding a small number of quality of life improvements, such as a shared stash.
