Rather than doing a blog post to show off everything coming to World of Warcraft in 2026, Blizzard has dropped a girthy video to better unveil the immense future of WoW.
Featuring Holly Longdale, Executive Producer, and Ion Hazzikostas, Game Director, every distinct flavour of the massive MMO is on display for all – be it WoW: Classic, the upcoming Midnight expansion or even the unique remix experiences, you can bet that there is a little something for everyone coming in the upcoming twelve months of Warcraft:
It is mind-blowing that even now, with years of unique WoW experiences under their care, the team is still full-steam ahead in supporting (and improving) every single one of them. Things that felt like crazy experiments are now standard offerings, with many players calling that corner of Warcraft home.
The Player Housing feature of World of Warcraft: Midnight is absolutely shaping up to be a great deal more than just an expansion feature; it’s a cornerstone of the game’s identity. The fact that they are putting on an eSports-like showdown for it tickles me greatly, because I’d love to imagine a grand final where coordinated teams had to decorate a room in a set timeframe. Think of a pit crew in Formula 1, but with bookshelves instead of tyres.
WoW classic continues to press on, with the Mists of Pandaria experience marching towards the incredible Siege of Orgrimmar raid. But what of the often-requested Classic+? I can’t help but feel they might be hiding something away for BlizzCon, surely. Oh well, the live team is cooking up more oddball entries to keep us entertained in the meantime.
I spoke to Holly all the way back in 2023, and even then, she told me they love Warcraft players, no matter which platform they prefer. Now it is 2026, and the proof seems pretty definitive – if people are playing it, they are supporting it.
What most captured you in the showcase? Are you shocked at how much WoW is on offer nowadays? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
