Developer Gearbox Software has announced that Borderlands 4 will be launching ahead of schedule on September 12. Alongside the announcement, it was revealed that a PlayStation State of Play focusing on the game will occur tomorrow, May 1.
Announced on the game’s socials this morning, the looter shooter will now be released two weeks ahead of its initial release date, though no specific reason was provided. The statement posed that “After careful consideration β along with a lot of meetings, playtesting, and incredible development work β we made the monumental decision to move up the launch of Borderlands 4 to September 12.”

In tandem with this announcement, it was confirmed via the PlayStation Blog that a PlayStation State of Play would be airing tomorrow, with the entire presentation focusing on Borderlands 4. Taking place at 7am AEST, the presentation will include “over 20 minutes of developer-guided gameplay, including missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more.”
