As far as oddball gaming occurrences go, I feel like the lion’s share always appears at fighting game tournaments.
The CEO 2025 Fighting Game Championships kicked off in Orlando just a few days ago, with the Tekken 8 pools drawing a good crowd. During these matches however, a mysterious figure dressed as Dr. Doom appeared and took on Tekken pro Bilal, who had travelled all the way from Pakistan with an undefeated record.
The Dr. Doom player, naming himself “Joe Budden”, then ran a clinic on Bilal – defeating him 2-0 with an aggressive Claudio, and celebrated by putting a package of toilet paper in front of the camera and pointing at the worlds “Ultra Soft”.
Dr. Doom came all the way from Latveria just to KI CHARGE and stare at @TKBILAL_ after winning.

He came. He conquered. He said ULTRA SOFT.

It was a moment of magic, that weird as hell thing that can occur in gaming communities where legends are born.
…Before the whole thing fell apart, as “Joe Budden” ended up disqualified as he then attempted to go backstage and throw the dunny roll at commentators MarkMan and Spooky. MarkMan and co made light of the situation, joking about it and accepting it as another on of those weird happening at a live event, but tournament officials had a different opinion – processing a full DQ and removing his chance to fight in the Winner’s bracket for a chance at top 24.
Later an explanation was given that “Joe” was warned not to do what he did, but did so anyway – so sadly his CEO tournament journey has come to an end.
However, if you are interested in the legend of “Joe Budden” – a post-event interview does exist where the Dr. Doom masked legend shares his thoughts on the whole thing, and you can watch it here.
Another day, another fighting tournament – another madcap legend is born. Even if you have no interest in Tekken, it’s wild to witness. As a sidenote, there is a rap star known as Joe Budden – but he is not this masked hero, which is disappointing because that would be an amazing extra layer of craziness for the whole story.
If you have never watched a live fighting game tournament before, take this as an example of what may happen – and there is still plenty of action to come in CEO2025. Tune and see if you can catch your very own magic moment.
