Dragon Age: The Veilguard Gets An October Release And A Trailer With Dangerous Levels Of Hype

Fine, Bioware, I’ll play your awesome-looking game

Publisher EA and developer Bioware have announced that the highly anticipated RPG Dragon Age: The Veilguard will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 31.

Following a name change and an upbeat trailer that divided opinion, Bioware’s next entry into the Dragon Age series is almost upon us. Dropping square on Halloween, this massive sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition is shaping up to be a potential landmark event, especially if the newest trailer is anything to go by.

I’m someone who has always been interested in the series but never jumped in, but this three-minute trailer has enough high-stakes fist-pumping adrenaline that it might just convince me to take the plunge. I do know enough to understand the importance of seeing fan favourite character Morrigan make an appearance here, so I’d imagine die-hard fans are losing their collective minds.

The pre-order floodgates are well and truly open, with a collector’s edition getting announced alongside the release date. Offering a more subdued array of collectibles than many of its contemporaries, the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Collector’s Edition includes:

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard Deluxe Edition Game
  • Exclusive SteelBook Case
  • ICONART Metal Print and magnet wall mount
  • Notebook
  • Collector’s Rigid Outerbox

Available at both EB Games and JB Hi-Fi, this bundle will set you back $229,95.

Were you always on board with Veilguard? Or are you like me and have been swayed by this kick-arse trailer? Make me feel better about being a hapless consumer in the comments or on our social media.
