Fallout’s TV Show Has Received A Ton Of Emmy Nominations

Emmy nom nom nom

The Annual Primetime Emmy Awards rapidly approach us, and with it comes a slew of giant nominations. Video games have made a big step into the realm of television recently, with some clear hits and even more obvious misses – but when award season comes, the wheat is separated from the chaff in a big way.

And the title of this piece is making an obvious point – Amazon’s Fallout TV series has a huge presence in the nomination list, with a whopping 17 opportunities to take home gold, including Outstanding Drama Series.

It’s a smattering of acknowledgements across essentially every aspect of television creations – ranging from writing, to visual effects and even the magnificent work of Walton Goggins in his work to embody The Ghoul within the series.

It is an impressive list to behold:

  • Outstanding Drama Series
  • Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series (Walton Goggins)
  • Outstanding Production Design
  • Outstanding Picture Editing For A Drama Series
  • Outstanding Writing For A Drama Series
  • Outstanding Main Title Design
  • Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes
  • Outstanding Period Or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Makeup (Non-Prosthetic)
  • Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup
  • Outstanding Music Supervision
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour)
  • Outstanding Sound Editing For A Comedy Or Drama Series (One Hour)
  • Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie
  • Outstanding Stunt Coordination For Drama Programming
  • Outstanding Emerging Media Program
  • Outstanding Stunt Performance

While many valid criticisms were offered towards the show, the objective truth that reached many is that it absolutely embodied Fallout, and was well worth a watch. For fans of the property, they saw some of the weirdest parts of the wasteland brought to life – for newcomers, they saw an introduction that did a strangely decent job of onboarding people to the world where war never changes.

Surprising nobody, a second season was greenlit in the time it takes to activate your V.A.T.S key – and if the series even takes home a minority of the nominated awards, the people behind that decision will be very pleased with their foresight.
