Frosty Games has announced Frosty Mini, a showcase that will take place on December 10 at 8am AEDT.
It was announced a few months ago that Frosty Games Fest would be returning in December, and now we know when and in what form. Frosty Mini will be a roughly 30-minute presentation that focuses on in-development and recently released games developed by teams in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The shorter form showcase is set to feature over 20 ANZ titles, and will be followed by a Steam event containing over 75 games, giving players a chance to buy and wishlist some promising local games.
The inaugural Frosty Games Fest debuted earlier this year during the Summer Game Fest slate, bringing with it a raft of announcements, reveals, and spotlights on Aussie and New Zealand titles that wouldn’t usually have a platform.
Another beacon of good news to come from Frosty Game Fest is the sheer volume of ANZ developers who want to get involved. The Frosty Games social channels confirmed that it received over 100 submissions for Frosty Mini, which is fantastic to see. While not all of these titles will make an appearance at next month’s show, it’s encouraging to see that the local video game scene is filled with passionate people making games.
We received 100+ applications for Frosty Mini, which is fantastic, but it also means that lots of games get left out of our event. It's always incredibly tough. We want to thank every single dev who applied! You should all now have an email update from us (pls check spam) 💌
