During today’s dedicated Ghost of Yōtei State of Play presentation, not only did we get a thick look at the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima sequel, but PlayStation also took the opportunity to reveal (count ’em) two gorgeous new Limited Edition PS5 consoles and DualSense controllers on the way to celebrate the launch of the game.
Coming on October 2, 2025 – the same day as the game, these new consoles and accessories feature striking artwork inspired by Japanese art forms and depicting Mt. Yōtei and protagonist Atsu, with the art created in close collaboration with the game’s developer, Sucker Punch. Both versions of the design showcase the same subjects, but are inspired by different artistic mediums and availability differs depending on where you are in the world.
The widely-available version comes in a gold-and-white colourway themed on kintsugi, the process of repairing broken ceramics using lacquer and gold. This one will be available globally with specific retailer and pre-order information still to come.
The alternate version sports a more sumi-e style black-and-white design, and will be available exclusively through the PlayStation Direct online store, putting it out of reach of anyone living in a region where said store is not accessible (*ahem*).
Thankfully for those that already own a PS5 or PS5 Pro console, the faceplates for the Gold version of the design will also be available to purchase separately, as will the Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition DualSense controllers. The covers are another PlayStation Direct dealio, but it does appear that they’ll be made available at retail in regions that can’t purchase from the dedicated online store.
We’d expect local retailers as well as PlayStation AU to give Aussies a heads up as to when we can pre-order this stuff.
In the meantime, take a look at the short reveal teaser for the PS5 Console – Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition Bundle and read more on the PlayStation Blog.
What do you reckon of these new console designs? Will you be picking up the bundle or any of the accessories? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
