Girl Geek Academy Have An Awesome Free Coding & Livestreaming Workshop This Weekend

If you are Melbourne side, come get around it!

This Saturday (22 September) the crew at Girl Geek Academy have booked a cinema in ACMI, Melbourne to host two awesome workshops

Learn about the world of live streaming from a Twitch expert, or bring along some young Girl Geeks along to learn the basics of coding. And thanks to the legends at Microsoft Azure Advocates, these workshops are totally free!

Pop-Up Coding Workshop (5 years & up) – 9am to 10am

An awesome experience full of fun, developing friendships and learning to code. This one hour introductory workshop is open to all Girl Geeks aged 5 and up – and yes, parents/guardians/aunties/uncles/everyone are welcome to come and learn too.
This unique workshop is a terrific way to introduce your child to coding, game making and build their technology confidence. And it’s a great opportunity for parents/guardians to experience coding alongside their girls to encourage inspiring tech role models within the home. Intro to Livestreaming (all ages) – 10:30am to 12pm

Learn the basics of games livestreaming from a Twitch expert.

Livestreaming is an increasingly popular element of the gaming community, and GGA are keen to see more girls and women be a part of it. But how do you get started? What exactly do you stream about? And how do you find your audience and have a great time, while still keeping your online safety in mind?
