Well, I sure hope you’re not sick of seeing GTA V topping sales charts. Rockstar has announced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X&S versions of Grand Theft Auto V will be releasing on November 11, 2021. These nu-gen versions will have upgraded visuals “new features and more”, but we don’t yet have specifics on exactly what that will entail.
These new versions will encompass both GTA V and GTA Online, with the Online portion of the game being offered as a standalone purchase, similar to Red Dead Online. As announced during the last year’s PS5 Showcase, GTA Online will be free exclusively for PS5 players for the first three months after the nu-gen release, meaning you’ll be able to download it for free up until February 2022. If you’re currently playing GTA Online, PlayStation Plus members will receive GTA$1 million at the start of each month leading up to the nu-gen release, so be sure to claim that through the PlayStation store.
Lastly, Rockstar teased some “fun surprises” to come in celebration of the upcoming 20th anniversary of GTA III, including some GTA Online exclusive happenings. We don’t know anything more than that, so we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
The expanded and enhanced versions of GTAV and GTA Online are arriving on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with new features and more, on November 11th, 2021.
