‘Tis the silly season, and apparently for some nefarious hacker types – that means it is the season to get silly.
Rainbow Six Siege players jumped into the title today to see that some oddities had occurred, with some discovering their accounts had been gifted ENORMOUS amounts of in-game currency, while others noticed that the live ban tracker within the game was sharing some wild updates:

Players are reporting massive amounts of R6 Credits, Renown, Alpha Packs, and exclusive items unexpectedly.
Numerous accounts even Ubisoft, including streamers' and possibly official ones, have received random or… pic.twitter.com/9hGNbBCMAm
Others attempted to enter the game only to discover their account was banned – before having the ban later reversed.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the official Rainbow Six Siege account stated that no players will be banned for spending any of the billions of credits they received during the incident, confirming that a rollback of all transactions is currently underway.
For those who were observant enough to notice, amidst the chaos there was a pretty killer Easter egg deployed as part of the ban reporter freak out:

So while it is a little late Christmas chaos for R6 players, there is at least a chuckle to be had. For now however, perhaps best to jump into a different game and let this mess get cleared up.
Just remember to always think twice.
