Hogwarts Legacy is one the most anticipated games of the year. However, fans may have to wait another year to get their hands on the game if a new report is true.
Speaking on his Sacred Symbol‘s podcast, Colin Moriarty stated that he has been “hearing behind the scenes that [the] game isn’t coming out this year,” and that the game’s development is “in some sort of trouble.”
While Moriarty is considered a reliable source, it’s worth noting that this is still speculation at this point, with the game’s publisher Warner Bros. yet and unlikely to publicly comment on the rumours.
Originally set to release in 2021, Warner Bros. delayed the launch of Hogwarts Legacy to 2022 to allow Portkey Games and Avalanche Software to create the best possible experience for players. A second year-long delay would certainly be a kick in the guts to fans that have been awaiting the game’s release.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to hit PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC in 2022 or beyond.
