Guerrilla Games has revealed Horizon Hunters Gathering, a new action co-op title coming to PS5 and PC that’s set within the established Horizon world.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, Hunters Gathering is a live-service action game that expands the Horizon IP. In this stylised title, up to three players can embark on hunts to bring down formidable machines by utilising various ranged and melee weapons and a roguelike perk system that further strengthens your hunter.
Numerous hunters will be available to take on a variety of hunts, two of which have been confirmed alongside the reveal. Machine Incursion is a wave-based mode that challenges players to take down swarms of machines that are flanked by a single boss enemy, while Cauldren Descent acts as a raid-style mission where players will be required to push ever deeper into bunkers filled with trials, changing rooms, and menacing machines.
The blog post confirms that Hunters Gathering will feature a narrative campaign canon to Aloy’s exploits in Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. Between missions and hunts, players will be able to get together in a social space that shares its name with the game itself, upgrade their gear, and customise their hunter.

While we don’t have a release date just yet, Hunters Gathering will run a closed playtest later this month. If you’re keen to get involved, you can register your interest on the PlayStation Beta Program website.
