A classic slip up may have just revealed a release window for the hotly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
As far as leaks go, it’s my favourite kind – a proud individual simply stating the projects they are working on, and perhaps adding a little more detail than necessary.
Jamie Mayer is a writer working on Spidey (and Wolverine!) and had some details on her personal website, mentioning that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was slated for “release fall 2023”. It was quickly updated to simply read “2023”, but being the internet people had already swooped in for the scoop:
BREAKING NEWS FOR MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN 2!!! One of the Insomniac writers working on the game, @heavymeta3000, has seemingly confirmed on her personal website that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be RELEASING IN FALL 2023!!! Makes sense, since that’s when the past games launched! 🤞🕷 pic.twitter.com/wAyEjfypy6

While it’s not an exact day, we are very aware that “Fall” in the US falls towards the end of September, meaning a late Q3 could well be Spidey season.
It was already going to be a huge year for the Spider-People, considering a trailer for the new Spider-Verse film sequel just dropped (which hilariously had a cameo from Insomniac/PlayStation Spider-Man), so fans who are into all things webbed and weird can set a tentative time in their calendar for more Spider-Gaming.
