June 2022’S PlayStation Plus Games Have Been Revealed

BOY!

Alright, everyone, the All-New PlayStation Plus tiers are going live this month, but that doesn’t mean that we need to ignore the usual list of free PS Plus games. Last month we got the solid trio of FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard and Curse of the Dead Gods, providing a good mix of genres and experiences. Now, before we all go scroll down the list of games available with the Extra and Deluxe tiers of the fancy new PS Plus, let’s look at the free games we’re getting early in the month.

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Plus games for June 2022 are God of War (2018), Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. These games will be available for download from June 7.

Acting as both a sequel and a soft reboot, God of War (2018) acknowledges what came before it, while actively improving every aspect of the series. A tighter camera and more deliberate combat make the moment-to-moment gameplay a blast, but the true triumph is in the game’s narrative. God of War (2018) transforms Kratos from a deity-murdering muscular menace to a layered and deeply troubled man who just wants better for his son. It’s a masterpiece that everyone should play, so here’s your chance if you haven’t already. Yes, God of War (2018) is a part of the PlayStation Plus Collection, but that’s only available to PS5 owners, so this is a great opportunity for PS4 players to get around one of the best games of all time (fight me if you disagree).

I’ll level with you, I’m not a Naruto fan. With that being said, I know that it’s an incredibly popular anime, with fans who would love nothing more than to get in on the ninja action. With four v four team-based combat that sees series favourites duke it out to see who’s the more skilled fighter, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker might be just what the Uzumaki Clan ordered (a quick Google helped there).

If you’ve ever wondered who would win in a smashing fight between Nigel Thornberry and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Michelangelo, first, I’m glad I’m not the only one, and secondly, this might be the game for you. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a platformer fighter that’s similar in many ways to Smash Bros. but features a cast of playable Nickelodeon characters. You can throw down as iconic animated folks like Spongebob, Reptar, and Powdered Toast Man, each with their own moveset and personality. For real though, how good is The Wild Thornberrys?

If you haven’t downloaded FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard and Curse of the Dead Gods, then you’ve got until June 6 to do so. As always, please remember that you can add these games to your library and download them later if you don’t have any precious space on your hard drive at the moment.
