Developer Ember Labs has revealed its next game, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, which is set to release on PS5 and PC in 2026.
Opening this morning’s PlayStation State of Play showcase, Kena: Scars of Kosmora is the direct sequel to 2021’s third-person action game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Set years after the events of the first game, Kena, now a renowned Spirit Guide, travels to the titular land of Kosmora in search of answers to the affliction she carries with her.
The reveal trailer and corresponding PlayStation Blog post confirm that Kena’s combat and traversal abilities have been expanded to include mounts and elemental manipulation. Furthermore, this new chapter in Kena’s story will focus more on the living, as she encounters various companions who aid her on her travels. The first game garnered a lot of attention thanks to its beautiful visuals and stunning art design, and the follow-up looks to continue that trend and even exceed it. The cutscenes and gameplay alike look gorgeous, so it’ll be interesting to see what Ember Labs can do with a bigger and more elaborate world.
