Konami Reveals That The Little Mermaid Voiced Metal Gear Solid’s Eva

Jodi Benson shares the tail of becoming ‘Suzetta Miñet’

A surprise shocker for any kid that grew up wanting to be where the people are – turns out the femme fatale and spy, Eva, credited as being voiced by a ‘Suzetta Miñet’ was actually voiced by Jodi Benson – famously known as the incredible voice of Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

This was all revealed as part of the ongoing Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series documentary, where part 3 had series legend (and voice of Naked Snake) David Hayter dive straight into it – who was the actual voice of Eva?

The use of Suzetta Miñet as a pseudonym was used because Jodi was involved in a lot of child-friendly work during that era of her career, so erring on the side of caution she decided to quietly distance herself from most boys first video game crush.

So yeah, now you need to deal with the fact that the amazing lady behind Barbie from Toy Story and Thumbelina was the one telling you her breast-waist-hip measurements during the interrogation scene. That is what ’35-26-34′ meant, by the way.

It is an awesome little bit of gaming trivia to unearth all these years later – with a cheeky wink from David Hayter who clearly knew all along.

Of course, this is all being revealed and spotlighted in anticipation of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is still slated for release in 2024 – even though there isn’t a great deal of 2024 left.

So maybe we will tune in come December and see if the credits for the game will now list Jodi Benson as Eva instead of Suzetta Miñet. Maybe they will say Jodi Benson/Suzetta Miñet to keep the legacy alive.

What do you think of this revelation? Do you thing Eva has a thing for dinglehoppers too? Tell us all about it in the comments or on social media.
