Well, here we are once more. Team ICO’s upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive The Last Guardian has seen another delay. Announced by Shuhei Yoshida over at the PlayStation Blog, the game has been delayed due to bugs.
Taken from the blog, Yoshida states –
A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.
For the uninformed, the massive title from the developers of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus has been in development for almost 10 years. It was first announced at E3 2009 and has been in development since 2007. Since then, the game has seen a myriad of delays and eventually led to a point of being cancelled. Following that announcement, it was reintroduced as a PS4 exclusive at E3 2015. Fast forward a year and its (now) former release date of October 20th was announced in the Sony event at E3 2016. There hasn’t really been much said about the game since E3 and now that we get something, it’s to deliver the bad news that the game has been delayed by about 6 weeks. The Last Guardian will now be released on the 7th of December.
