Marvel’s Wolverine Finally And Suddenly Locks In A September Release Date

Oh snikt

Developer Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on PS5 on September 15.

Well, we’ve been eagerly awaiting a firm release date for Wolverine and, despite getting details here and there and a girthy gameplay trailer, we’ve been left wanting. Many expected the rage-filled Canadian to make an appearance at the most recent PlayStation State of Play, which he did, but in the form of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Instead, Insomniac has waited two weeks and dropped a short, sweet post on its social media accounts to set a launch date.

With no fluff or fuss, the social post reads, “Let’s cut to the chase: Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026.” It’s accompanied by a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it trailer that shows the game’s key art being slashed to reveal the date.

Admittedly, this is a slightly odd way to drop the news, as you would assume you’d do it with a bit of fanfare, but I’m not complaining. September 15 gives Wolverine some breathing room between it and the blockbuster open-world crime elephant in the room, so I’d say this fits.
