BioWare Confirms Mass Effect Andromeda Delayed To 2017

Mass Effect – a series in which hasn’t seen a sequel or iteration since 2012, when Mass Effect 3 was released, has had a lot of hype circulating around an upcoming sequel named Mass Effect Andromeda.

Recently, BioWare published a new blog post which detailed that a release date delay was necessary so they can “make sure everything the game can be and should be”. BioWare also said that Mass Effect Andromeda would be showcased at the EA Play conference on Sunday June 12.

Now this delay may prove disheartening for fans as Mass Effect Andromeda was originally slated for a 2016 release, but a delay has been expected for Q4 of the fiscal year, which would mean between January and March of 2017. However, if it means that the game will be a more polished and complete product then the delay can only benefit the game, and gamers.

As we’ve been playing the game at the studio recently, it’s showing us that we’re taking the game in the right direction.

But we also know we need the right amount of time to make sure we deliver everything the game can be and should be – that’s our commitment from all of us to all of you. Because of that, Mass Effect: Andromeda will now ship in early 2017. – BioWare general manager, Aaryn Flynn
