A pair of new developer videos for the free-to-play mobile title The Division Resurgence has been released, covering the game’s story, gameplay and more.
Within the two clips, Executive Producer Fabrice Navrez and Community Developer James Berry go over a number of key aspects that make up Resurgence. Beginning at the start of the first Division game, Resurgence mainly takes place after the events of the original title, giving players a fresh look at the series. A new faction known as the Freemen will pose a threat to players, utilising armour and weaponry crafted from scavenged loot from around the city.
The gameplay will be similar to that found within the core Division games, including the cover system and the open-world map set in New York. During this dev deep dive, it’s stated that Resurgence will be a complete Division experience that’s tailor-made for mobile. The game will be playable in co-op and will also feature the Dark Zone, the PvP mode that has players collecting loot and attempting to extract it while battling other real-world players.
A short gameplay walkthrough shows the game in action. Running on mobile, the gameplay is actually quite impressive, as it does look like a fully-realised Divison game. The player can be seen wandering through the open world, encountering enemies and equipping themselves with collected loot.
