Play Three Generations Of Games On Xbox One

Finally relive Original Xbox classics on your modern console

Starting from tomorrow, Xbox users will be able to play three generations of games on one console! A curated list of Original Xbox classics such as Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic and more will be available across the entire Xbox One family of devices.

What’s more, is that when the Xbox One X launches on November 7th, players can run select Xbox 360 games at higher resolution, 9X the original pixel count, and with expanded colour details! Xbox One X Enhanced Xbox 360 games will include favourites such as Halo 3 and Fallout 3.

Compatibility is important to Xbox, developers, and the community, so seeing this huge step in preserving the art form of video games is very exciting, and because compatibility is in Xbox’s DNA, this is why the Xbox One is the only console designed to play the best games of the past, present, and future.

For fans who still have all of their original discs, you’ll be excited to hear that you can play Original Xbox games through the disc, but for those less fortunate, these games will be available for purchase digitally through the Microsoft Store.

Since these are original games and not remaster, Xbox Live services such as online multiplayer that were available on original Xbox will not be available, however, offline multiplayer scenarios such as co-op and system-link are supported as they were originally.

Sorry achievement hunters, but there will also be no Achievements for Original Xbox games because this functionality was also not originally available.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at the Original Xbox games that will be available tomorrow on the Xbox One family of devices:

Since then she has fallen in love with indie games, AAA games (I’m looking at you Tekken) and everything in between. Starting off as a console player, and more specifically an Xbox player, Tegan has now recently begun her new gaming ventures on PC. You can find her playing dating sims on Steam @carrotphernelia if you so wish.
