Despite Capcom’s efforts to play down rumours that Leon Kennedy will feature in Resident Evil Requiem, the PlayStation Store has all but confirmed this as truth after cover art featuring the much-loved protagonist leaked alongside the game’s listing.
Spotted and confirmed by several outlets, including Eurogamer, the cover art appears for those who have pre-ordered the game and features main protagonist Grace Ashcroft alongside a gruff older man with a striking resemblance to Ashley Graham’s saviour.
Playstation for real this time accidentally just leaked Leon in Resident Evil Requiem. Checked with some people to absolutely confirm this was real first, and it is. If you have the standard non-Deluxe Edition of RE9 on PS5, you can see this cover if try to schedule pre-loading. pic.twitter.com/yZv69ecd2u

I mean, I guess there is a slight chance that Capcom is pulling a sneaky and it’s actually my man Kevin Ryman with a beard. After all, in my interview with Requiem’s producer Masato Kumazawa, he did tell me that characters “involved with the Raccoon City incident” would feature in the game.
Capcom has already stated that they considered Leon for the main role in Requiem, but ultimately decided against it in favour of someone who would be scared more easily, a move to create a more survival horror experience.
WellPlayed’s Kieron Verbrugge dabbled with the game’s demo at Tokyo Game Show and came away impressed with how Capcom is making Requiem feel like Resident Evil but an evolution at the same time.

Resident Evil Requiem lands on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC on February 27, 2025.
Shoutouts to Bluewav for discovering this.
