The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have announced that Pokémon Legends Z-A will launch on October 16 for the Switch and Switch 2. After its initial announcement in February of last year, as well as the reveal that the Switch 2 would run the game in an enhanced mode, information on the next Legends title has been sparse. Now, Game Freak is ramping up the pre-release cycle with some pre-order bonuses and a date for the next Pokémon Presents, which will offer us a better look at the game, on July 22nd.
The game, a spiritual successor to 2022’s Pokémon Legends: Arceus, takes trainers back to the Kalos region last seen in Pokémon X and Y over a decade ago. The French-inspired location, taking place in Lumiose City, looks to be an unholy union between traditional Pokémon city and the open-zone world design approach that allows the mons to freely roam and trainers to move about in battles.
Legends Z-A is gonna set you back $89.95 on the original Switch and a Nugget worthy $109.95 on the Switch 2, according to local retailers. Pre-orders for the game go live next friday, the same day the Switch 2 will hit shelves. Players with the Switch version of the game will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 edition via Nintendo’s Upgrade Pass system.
Are you keen to catch them all, again? More importantly, are you as amped as we are to see Totodile return??? Be sure to let us know in the comments below and on social media.
