Romeo Is A Dead Man Is Suda51 And Grasshopper Manufacture’s Next Big, Bloody Thing

No, not that one

This morning brought one of the first major digital showcase events for the June “Summer of Gaming” season, giving us a brand-new and lengthy PlayStation State of Play dedicated (mostly) to third party and PlayStation partner titles, with stacks of new trailers and reveals.

One of the most exciting new bits was the debut reveal of Romeo is a Dead Man, the next game from Suda51 and the team at Grasshopper Manufacture – developer of No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned and killer7, among others.

In true GhM style, the reveal trailer for Romeo is a Dead Man is an absolute cacophony of stylised visuals, ultra-violence and deeply weird shit. There are guns, swords, gore, demons and… talking jackets? A PlayStation Blog post accompanying the announcement says that players will be jumping back and forth between the real world and subspace as the titular Romeo takes on his role as FBI Space-Time special agent “Dead Man” while also searching for his missing girlfriend.

The game is slated to in 2026 (“maybe”) for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
