All good things must come to an end, I suppose.
According to Canada-based video game retailer ‘Video Games Plus’ (a source with a decent record for this kinda thing) in a tweet that has now been deleted, Nintendo will cease production of all games for the original Nintendo DS system:
This comes a week after Nintendo announced that the DSi shop was on its way out, so this may not be all that unlikely. Still, until we get an official statement from the Big N we simply have to take this “news” with about as much salt as an average League of Legends match. But buying rarer DS games now is probably a good idea. I grew up on the GBA and DS, so seeing a massive part of my upbringing come down is sobering. It tells me that I’m older and that I’m not hip and “with it” like those damn kids are. They need to get of my fuckin’ lawn. I just cut that shit for the third time today.
