While chatting to WellPlayed during the latest episode of Talkthrough featuring Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter, Odd Bug Studio Co-Founder Jack Bennett shared that the team is currently working on a project that is “Wallace & Gromit meets Watchmen.”
The information was shared when Bennett was asked what the studio is looking to do now that Tails of Iron 2 has launched, with Bennett going into detail about the studio’s pitching process.
“The way we’ve always got funding for our publishing deals is, we go to EGX or PAX and there’s normally a business side to it, and you go along with your deck of your game you want to make and your demo and you do basically speed dating.
“We’ve always got three or four pitch decks made for games that we’d like to make. Because, Tails of Iron is our Soulslike, but Soulslikes aren’t going to be the thing that publishers are looking for forever. Right now I could show you three games that we’ve got designed out that we’d like to make.
“When we sold the idea of Tails of Iron to a publisher, we like to compare two things so that people have got an instant understanding of what it is. So with Tails of Iron it was Redwall meets The Witcher, that was our easy pitch sell. So we’ve got one that is Wallace & Gromit meets Watchmen. That’s what it is.”
Unfortunately, this concept is just that and is not in development, and no information was shared about what style of game the project is, but you can listen to the exchange below.
