The Blood Of Dawnwalker Gets A Bloody And Brutal New Trailer Featuring Our First Look At Gameplay

Developer Rebel Wolves has debuted a new trailer for their upcoming single-player RPG, Blood of Dawnwalker.

Dropping during this morning’s Xbox Games Showcase, the new trailer provides some additional story context to this new world while giving us our first decent look at gameplay. Living in a 14th-century Europe ruled over by vampires, and an uncaring monarchy, protagonist Coen finds himself with a unique affliction. Following a run-in with said sharp-toothed terrors, Coen has become a Dawnwalker, a being caught between humans and vampires, though not fully one of the other.

The snippets of gameplay interspersed throughout the trailer show deliberate, close-quarters sword fights with humans, vampires, and hulking monstrosities. We also see glimpses of Coen’s Dawnwalker abilities, such as teleportation and a snazzy little trick where he walks up walls, handy for what looks to be some platforming elements within a city. As Coen can choose between fighting for his humanity or embracing his newfound darkness, it seems likely that the player will be able to cultivate abilities that go along with this choice.

Blood of Dawnwalker is the first game from developer Rebel Wolves, an outfit co-founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Dawnwalker will be a single-player open-world action RPG that puts the narrative first. Our first few looks at the game have been excellent, so we’re excited to see more. Thankfully, we won’t need to wait long, as a full gameplay reveal event is scheduled for June 21.
