Developer Rebel Wolves has announced its debut title will be The Blood of Dawnwalker, a narrative-driven action RPG coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Set in the Carpathian Mountains in an alternate 14th century, a group of vampires use the chaos caused by the plague to seize power from local warlords. Players will assume the role of Coen, a young man who has been recently turned into a Dawnwalker, a being stuck somewhere between a human and a vampire. With 30 days to save your family, choices will need to be made, particularly whether or not to succumb to the darkness and embrace the powers that come with it.
The reveal comes alongside a cinematic trailer that introduces us to this twisted new world. In it, the cabal of vampires is seen tearing through a group of knights, harassing Coen and his young sister. The violence and brutality are visceral, and the dynamic between the biters and Coen is interesting, as they aren’t shown to be outwardly antagonistic toward them.

Rebel Wolves is the young studio headed up by co-founder and Creative Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Speaking about his studio’s debut title, Tomaszkiewicz made the following statement on Dawnwalker: “Inspired by classic RPGs, we want players to feel the sense of urgency in an open-world game. There are multiple approaches to saving Coen’s family with no clear division between main and side quests, you decide on how you spend the time.”, explains Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director and Co-Founder of Rebel Wolves. “Time is a resource, and with each quest progressing its passage, it is impossible to complete all stories and arcs before the dreadful deadline, making each playthrough unique. We call it a narrative sandbox.”
