Developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco have revealed that action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker will release across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 3.
Rebel Wolves held a digital Road to Launch event for its upcoming debut title today, revealing various details, including the release date and the game’s PC requirements, while also showcasing new gameplay and story trailers. As explored in the new story trailer, players will embody Coen, an unfortunate chap from the Carpathians who was transformed into the titular Dawnwalker, a vampire capable of existing in daylight. Given a limited number of days to save his family from a toothy fate, Coen will need to make the most of his unique abilities and work within a strict time system to free his loved ones…or not.

The second of the two new trailers delves into Dawnwalker’s gameplay, highlighting the different combat and traversal abilities that Coen can use during the day and then when the sun goes down. In particular, this developer-narrated trailer details the game’s open world and how Coen interacts with its activities and challenges. We get a look at open-world staples, like watchtower climbing, but we also get a glimpse at Coen’s traversal options, such as transforming into a wolf. Additionally, we get to see how the game’s skill system works, where you’re required to pass time and spend experience, which plays into the game’s larger narrative.

On top of these gameplay-related details, Rebel Wolves also lifted the lid on the game’s PC requirements, which will either bring relief or anxiety depending on your rig. The minimum requirements are pretty tame, requiring an RTX 3050 to run at 1080p at 30 fps. It gets dicey on the other end of the spectrum, however, with ultra settings asking for a wallet-exploding RTX 5090 to reach 60 fps at 2160p. Mileage will vary for everyone, so take a look at the full list of requirements to figure out where you land:

Last but not least, it was announced that The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a few editions, each with its own set of goodies and content. The digital Eclipse Edition will set you back $124.95, and it’ll net you a compendium, soundtrack, and comic, as well as the base game. Things get cooler with the physical editions. The Day One Edition runs you $99 and comes with a world map and a pretty sick steelbook (if you’re into that kind of thing). Lastly, the Collector’s Edition will bleed your wallet of $399 in exchange for a 23cm Coen statue, an art book, a world map, a steelbook, and some really rad packaging.
Digital editions are up for pre-order on the various platform stores, and the physical editions are available from JB Hi-Fi at this stage.
