The Last Of Us Season 2 Get Its First Full Trailer And All Your Mates Are Here

If I ever were to lose you…

The Last of Us Season 2 Abby

The Last of Us superfans will know that September 26th is “Outbreak Day” and this year, on top of The Last of Us Part I being added into the PlayStation Plus Extra game catalogue, we’ve also been treated to the first proper trailer for the next season of HBO’s spectacularly-received TV adaptation.

The roughly two-minute trailer is by far the best look at The Last of Us Season 2 we’ve had to date, and gives us a good idea of some of the key story beats this upcoming season will likely hit. Kicking things off is more of something we saw hinted at in the first Season 2 teaser, Joel getting therapy. Who’d have thunk? Though I think knowing my therapist was Catherine O’Hara would absolutely convince me to go, as well. Perhaps this is a handy plot device to, uh, portion out a bit of screen time.

Cue Pearl Jam.

Moving on to more recognisable bits from the game, we see a glimpse at Ellie and Dina on horseback outside of Jackson, followed by that enormously sweet scene of Ellie playing guitar for Dina. We see a massive horde of infected in the snow, complete with that fence segment made somehow even more intense.

As far as the controversial Abby’s place within the second season, it’s hard to make out from this trailer whether or not we’ll see her in the present tense or only as a younger person – the quick cuts here seem to imply the latter. A couple of intriguing moments aside, it certainly seems that Season 2 won’t be headed far past one of The Last of Us Part II’s most pivotal moments.

But why rely on me to communicate all this when you can watch it right below? Check a look:
