The Last Of Us Season 2 Release Window Revealed

The latest teaser trailer for season 2 of HBO’s The Last of Us has revealed that the season will premiere sometime in April 2025.

Dropping during Sony’s CES presentation, the brief but intense look shows us what we can expect from the highly-anticipated series, including Kaitlyn Dever’s portrayal of Abby. Season 2 will continue the emotional storyline of Joel and Ellie as it played out in The Last of Us Part II, although the season’s seven episodes will likely not be enough to cover the entire game.

The first season, which finished in January 2023, was a critical success, with the show and its cast and crew being awarded numerous awards. We largely shared the sentiment felt by critics, scoring it a 7 in our review, writing that “HBO’s The Last of Us is a faithful retelling of its source material for better or worse.”

Looking ahead to its second season, however, we hope that showrunner Craig Mazin and game writer Neil Druckmann allow this adaptation to get a bit messier with it this season and let the characters of The Last of Us Part II shine.
