The Long-Rumoured Battlefield Battle Royale Is Called REDSEC And It’s Dropping Tomorrow

Where are we playing the objective?

EA and Battlefield Studios have teased their free-to-play modeREDSEC, confirming it will release tomorrow, October 29.

Rumoured, speculated, leaked, and talked about in hushed tones for months, it now looks like we are less than 24 hours away from getting our hands on the Battlefield Battle Royale experience that Ripple Effect has been chipping away at. Teased during the Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal Event and referenced to high heaven for the months following, the mysterious yet very public mode is now known as Battlefield REDSEC, standing for Redacted Sector.

A gameplay trailer for Battlefield RedSec has been scheduled for 2am, October 28, with a corresponding X post preparing players for the mayhem with the words, “Eyes up. Plates on.”

You can hang out and watch the Battlefield RedSec gameplay trailer here:

The release of REDSEC coincides with the beginning of season one for Battlefield 6, titled Rogue Ops, which also includes a new mode in Strikepoint and a new map in Blackwell Fields. Rogue Ops will also bring with it a new carbine, sniper rifle, pistol, attachments, and vehicle to spice things up. For those looking to grab some free cosmetics, a Twitch drop will be taking place between October 29 and November 4, wherein players will have the chance to nab a vehicle decal, weapon package, tank skin, and soldier skin by watching affiliated streamers who are playing Battlefield REDSEC. You’ll need a Twitch account linked to an EA account, so head over to the Battlefield website for all the info.

We’ve found it hard to stop playing Battlefield 6 since launch, saying in our review that, “Battlefield 6 does more than recapture the feeling, it sets a new benchmark for the series. A return to classes and squad-based gameplay are met by excellent maps, tight controls, and an all-timer of a new mode, making this an unmissable multiplayer experience.” We gave Battlefield 6 a 9.
