The PAX Aus Indie Showcase Winners For 2024 Have Been Announced

12 deserved games are hitting the showroom floor

I’m glad I’ve got plenty of time to book flights and get my affairs in order before PAX this year. What’s that? As of today, PAX Aus 2024 is 85 days away? Right, well then.

That’s right, PAX Aus is fast approaching, so it’s time to get your schedules on the go, madly circling the games you absolutely can’t miss. Undoubtedly, some of those circled games will be indie titles from talented devs here in Aus. Don’t worry, thanks to the Indie Showcase, you won’t have to try hard to find them, they’ll have a prime spot on the show floor. The winners of this year’s Indie Showcase have now been revealed, with six video games and six tabletop games selected to take centre stage.

Here are the winners of the PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase:

PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase Winners – Digital

  • Max Mustard by Toast Interactive

  • Untethered by True Anomaly Entertainment

  • Anticitizen: Red by Queebly Software

  • Ascending Inferno by Oppolyon Studios

  • Rita by SporkTank

  • The Rewinder 2 by Misty Mountain Studio

PAX Aus 2024 Indie Showcase Winners – Tabletop

  • Fight With Spirit by Storybrewers Roleplaying

  • Oracle by Oracle Games

  • Glade by Teafrog Games

  • Frayed Ally by Button Fox

  • Nimbus by Neural Forge

  • MEAN! by Mean Games

They say you shouldn’t play favourites, but I’m going to highlight a few tabletop games from the list anyway; who’s going to stop me? From the impressive list of board games, my eyes are locked on Frayed Ally and Oracle. The former is a social deduction game that’s playable in roughly 20 minutes, and the latter is a card-based battler focused on furry little battle mages. Two very different vibes, and I’m here for both.
