Frogwares has announced that its 2019 Lovecraftian-detective title The Sinking City is getting a remaster for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The remaster will be a free update for existing owners of the game on those platforms.
Originally developed in Unreal Engine 4, The Sinking City remaster will take advantage of Unreal Engine 5 and will feature improved lighting, enhanced level of detail, 4K textures and improved reflections, a photo mode and support for DLSS, FSR and TSR upscaling. There’s currently no release date for the remaster.
I reviewed the game when it first released in 2019 and then when it launched on PS5, writing that “Above all, it’s still a damn good detective game set inside a compelling world.”
Frogwares is also working on a sequel, with a Kickstarter currently underway, generating more than 400% of its initial target, unlocking some of the project’s stretch goals.
One of the latest initiatives will see 100 players have their voice in the game. To be in the running, all you need to do submit a recording of you saying YES however you would like through this link. Successful entrants will be chosen at random and one lucky person will win a collector’s edition.
