Netflix has announced that The Witcher has been renewed for a third season. Alongside this news, Netflix also announced a second animated movie and a series made for kids.
During TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event, The Witcher series was greenlit for a third season. This came alongside a new trailer for the upcoming second season that’s set to stream on the service on December 17. That’s not all of the news to come from the growing world of The Witcher, as a new animated movie and kids series were also announced.
The first animated Witcher movie, Nightmare of the Wolf, was released this August and followed the exploits of Geralt’s mentor Vesimir in his younger years. While flawed, the first foray into animation for The Witcher was solid, so here’s hoping the follow-up is as well.
The announcement that has me scratching my head is the series for families and children. The Witcher series is filled with violence and gore, so I’m not sure how well that will translate to a minor-targetted product, but I’m curious all the same.
