Peacock has dropped the first trailer for season 2 of its Twisted Metal adaptation, showing off Calypso and other characters as the titular tournament begins.
Once again starring Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa, season 2 will see Anthony Carrigan, Saylor Bell Curda, Lisa Gilroy, Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, and Michael James Shaw join the cast. Below is the official premise from Peacock’s announcement post.
“Following the Season 1 finale, John Doe and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.”
Peacock has revealed that the season will be released this American summer, so the Australian winter. It’s likely that Stan will once again be the service to watch Twisted Metal on.
I scored the first season a 6 in my review, writing that “Strong performances from the cast can’t stop Twisted Metal from being a fun yet flawed adaptation of the classic PlayStation series.”
