Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino will adopt new titles, working to develop and define new areas of focus for the PlayStation brand.
Hulst will serve as the CEO for the newly named ‘Studio Business Group’, focusing on PlayStations first-party teams and overseeing development of PlayStation intellectual properties in the realm of TV and film.
Hideaki will lead the ‘Platform Business Group’, including console hardware, technology, accessories, PlayStation Network and third-party relations such as major publishing arms and indie development houses.
While it is clear that the division of tasks makes sense, it is still as great an excuse as ever to link the most poignant take in regards to sharing leadership to ever grace television:

Both individuals will continue to report to Sony Interactive Entertainment chairman Hiroki Totoki, who has been acting CEO of the division since Jim Ryan stepped down from the role at the end of March.
Via GameIndustry, Totoki is quoted as saying:
Sony Interactive Entertainment is a dynamic and growing business that delivers incredible entertainment experiences through the connection of content and technology. These two leaders will have clear responsibilities and will manage strategic direction to ensure the focus remains on deepening engagement with existing PlayStation users and expanding experiences to new audiences.
It is worth noting that both Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino represent internal hires for their respective roles, serving as PlayStation veterans for the sake of understanding what is required of them.
