XIII Is Getting A Remake This November

Absolute classic cel-shaded, story-driven FPS XIII is the kind of game that would be doomed to obscurity if it didn’t occasionally come up in conversations about the PS2 era and its underrated heroes. Still, there are those (myself included) that would continue to champion the idea of bringing it back on modern platforms, whether in the form of a sequel, a HD port or even a remake.

Well kids, Malta-based developer Playmagic have announced that they’re doing exactly the latter. This November 13th, XIII will receive the remake treatment for PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

While details on the remake remain scant, you can check out the developers’ post over on the PlayStation Blog for some further insight, and watch the brief teaser trailer below:

Kieron started gaming on the SEGA Master System, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy. The 20-odd years of his life since have not seen his love for platformers falter even slightly. A separate love affair, this time with JRPGs, developed soon after being introduced to Final Fantasy VIII (ie, the best in the series). Further romantic subplots soon blossomed with quirky Japanese games, the occasional flashy AAA action adventure, and an unhealthy number of indie gems. To say that Kieron lies at the center of a tangled, labyrinthine web of sexy video game love would be an understatement.
