Gears Of War: Reloaded Launching On Xbox, PC And PS5 In August

Third-party like it’s 2006

Xbox has announced that the remaster for the first entry in its highly popular Gears of War series – Gears of War: Reloaded – is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 on August 26. No Australian price has been revealed but the US pricing is US$39.99.

Reloaded has been a shared development job between The Coalition, Sumo Interactive and Disbelief and brings the original game to current platforms with all the content from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in 4K 60fps (campaign) and 4K 120fps (multiplayer). Of course, Reloaded will be available on Game Pass on day one. Also, if you owned the Ultimate Edition, this will be a free upgrade.

This marks the first time that Gears will launch on Xbox’s rival console, but in doing so will increase the number of people you can chainsaw to death. Reloaded will support two-player campaign co-op and eight-player multiplayer, and will support crossplay without needing a Microsoft account. However, signing in with your Microsoft account will unlock cross-progression for both the campaign and multiplayer, as well as allowing you to send invites to your friends, no matter their platform.

The full list of perks that players can expect can be found below:

  • 4K resolution
  • 60 FPS in Campaign
  • 120 FPS in Multiplayer
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR)
  • Dolby Vision & 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos
  • 7.1.4 3D Spatial Audio
  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
  • 4K assets and remastered textures
  • Enhanced post-processing visual effects
  • Improved shadows and reflections
  • Super resolution with improved anti-aliasing
  • Zero loading screens during Campaign
