PS5 Consoles Will Be Available To Eligible Vodafone Customers On A Monthly Plan

Good deal for Vodafone customers

PlayStation and Vodafone have today announced a partnership that will see Vodafone offer the PS5 console on monthly plans as of tomorrow (PS5 launch day). Vodafone customers who already have two existing services (Services include $30 and above postpaid mobile, tablet, and all nbn services that are eligible for the Bundle and Save discount) will be able to grab the standard PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition on an interest-free 12, 24 or 36-month plan. Stock is expected to be limited for the console’s launch.

Vodafone will also be offering customers the PS5 DualSense controller (limit of two per customer) as well as the Media Remote. Eligible customers can place their order with Vodafone by calling the Vodafone Customer Care line on 1300 728 637 from November 12, with pickup from your local Vodafone store expected to happen by December 15 (by appointment).

While official pricing was not announced, based on the console’s RRP and monthly repayments we anticipate that monthly pricing will be close to the below:

PS5 standard (disc version) at RRP $749.95: 12 months= $62 // 24 months= $31 // 36 months= $21
PS5 Digital Edition at RRP $599.95: 12 months= $50 // 24 months= $25 // 36 months= $17

Arthur Panos, Vodafone General Manager of Products and Devices, said that the company was excited that the partnership with PlayStation would provide another avenue for Vodafone customers to get their hands on the PS5 console ahead of Christmas.

“In the future the partnership with Sony will play a key role in helping Vodafone expand its product lines that directly interface with existing telecommunication services. Coupled with one of our Vodafone nbn services, Sony’s gaming products can open up endless educational, recreational and communication possibilities for our customers and we’re looking forward to seeing it come to life.”

The partnership continues the trend of telcos tapping into the video game market to win more business, with Telstra offering a tasty deal on both the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles.
