Get Ready For VROOM: The Dark Ages With This Sweet DOOM Inspired Harley-Davidson

It’s no cyber-dragon, but it’s bloody close

Bethesda has revealed a pretty ripper marketing piece for DOOM: The Dark Ages today, introducing the world to a one-of-a-kind custom Harley-Davidson Sportster S motorcycle inspired by the brutal medieval aesthetic of the Slayer’s latest adventure.

Video game marketing often tries to be as loud as possible – fighting to be at the forefront of everyone’s attention – and sometimes this is okay, especially when the delivery method is this cool:

It’s hard to argue against how suitable this unification of bike and brutality appears – I mean, sure, you could postulate that the medieval nature of DOOM: The Dark Ages might suggest a horse would be more appropriate, but you’d struggle to make one look this cool.

Nigel Keough, Managing Director of Harley-Davidson ANZ, had the following to say:

It is fantastic to see the transformation, of what is already an iconic motorcycle, into something out of this world. The team at Bethesda have done an amazing job in the creation of a custom design Harley-Davidson Sportster S, inspired by the DOOM Slayer’s dragon

And mecha-dragon is a pretty spot on inspiration here, with the malevolent glow of the red LEDs bringing the cold metal to life before you notice that the headlight assembly entirely recreates the gaping maw of the Slayer’s dragon:

For us Aussies, we can actually see this killer ride in person at Culture Kings on George Street, Sydney – so if you are in the neighbourhood and wish to experience the pristine power of demon-killing chrome, take a squiz on my behalf when the in-store unveiling takes place on Friday, May 16, from 7pm-9pm AEST.

The other electrifying news is that the end goal is to give the bike away to one lucky fan, so those in attendance should keep their eye out for whatever avenue might reward them with this noble steed. Failing that, you can always enjoy the range of DOOM themed activities that will take place in store. Ask if you can try on the matching helmet and leather jacket.

For more information on how to enter, or to attend the Culture Kings launch event, we have been advised to tell readers to keep an eye out on Bethesda ANZ social media channels on XInstagram, and Facebook – so if you feel a demonic hunger for this primal piece of machinery, cast your gaze that-a-way.
