Nintendo Has Announced A Surprise Direct For Tonight With A Focus On The Original Switch

The One Where They Say Goodbye

Nintendo has revealed that it’ll be delivering a brand-new Nintendo Direct showcase, almost exactly a week before it delivers a brand-new Nintendo Direct showcase.

Yep, while we’re all waiting patiently (hah) for the big, upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the company has decided to slip an extra in there and give us around half an hour’s worth of news on games for the current Switch console, as soon as tonight/tomorrow morning, time zones permitting.

Tune in tomorrow for a livestreamed Nintendo Direct, featuring around 30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch,” Nintendo’s copy on social media reads, before wisely calling out that, “There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.”

If you’re keen to watch this one, you can find all of the local Aussie times to check it out as it happens below:

Chances are we’ll see some updates on upcoming third party titles and/or a last bastion of first-party to give the original Switch a fitting crescendo, but we really won’t know until it happens.

Will you be staying up to watch this Nintendo Direct? Are you still keen on games for the current version of the console? Let us know in the comments below or on social media.
