This neat gadget was basically an emulator for your TV that came with pre-installed NES games, but hoo boy was it popular. Much like the chuckling red muppet, the NES Mini sold out everywhere. Twice.
Nintendo’s economic sadism knows no bounds, however. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) Classic Mini is hitting shelves…no, fulfilling pre-orders in September. For those out of the loop, the SNES Mini is the same idea as the NES Mini. However, this time it comes with a piece of forgotten history. SNES Mini units will come packaged with the never-released Starfox 2. Exciting, right? But with pre-orders being sold out faster than bottled water in a desert, how are you to obtain one?
Not to fear, Uncle Aza has you covered. This week, our friends at the popular Aussie bargain site Catch will be selling pre-orders of the SNES Mini this Wednesday! They’ll be going for $129 each, but if the pre-order numbers are anything to go by you’ll have to get in quick. The system will be available for purchase at 9am on Wednesday July 26th EST.
