Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Forces Bundle Appears For Some Reason

Sonic Mania Plus PLUS

It’s not uncommon to see manufacturers and retailers bundling failing products with popular ones in an effort to get them in people’s hands. One prominent example is LG often giving away free Xbox Ones with purchases of their TVs (ooh burn). Well, SEGA seem to have adopted that same strategy and are about to release a double pack containing the fairly excellent Sonic Mania Plus and the positively terrible Sonic Forces at retail.

Spotted on the JB Hi-Fi and EB Games websites, the double pack is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 23, 2018 (though someone at JB made a boo boo and put the new Team Sonic Racing date on there). On Xbox One and PS4, the pack will retail for $69.95AUD, while the Switch version will inexplicably go for $89.95AUD.

For reference, the handsome Dylan Blereau gave Sonic Mania a solid 8/10 in his review, while Sonic Forces earned two dishonorable mentions in our Biggest Flops of 2017 list.

Honestly, it might just be time for SEGA to put the blue blur to rest for a while, or rethink what a Sonic game is. Either way, stop pushing Sonic Forces, guys. It sucks.
