Resident Evil Village Is Reportedly The Second Game In A Planned Trilogy

You know what they say, sacres come in threes

First things, first, can we all agree that Resident Evil Village, with all of its sexy vampires and scary werewolves, looks brilliant? Excellent, I’m glad we’re all on the same page. With that in the rearview, we’ve got some news to unpack. Over on Twitter, well-known horror game leaker AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem has given some insight into the newer Resident Evil games.

According to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil Village will, in fact, be the second game in a planned trilogy that started with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and will end with RE9. Dusk Golem states that “RE7>RE8>RE9 have a connected, planned out story…” and that all three games have been developed closely with each other.

With this in mind, Dusk Golem claims that story threads that may not have made sense in RE7 will become clear in RE8 (Village) and RE9. Rounding out this leaking evil boat, Golem predicts that Capcom will move away from numbered sequels and pivot towards more stand-alone stories once RE9 is in the books. Seeing as though 7 and now 8 are more well-known by their subtitles, this prediction seems to have legs.
